Girls love Pearls
It is a natural marvel that a tiny grit of sand entering an oyster shell creates the most magnificent natural wonder, a beautifully lustrous pearl. There are many pearl species native to countries such as Australia, Japan, Philippines, China, Indonesia, Scotland, South Pacific and Mexico, each with their own unique colours and characteristics.
The Akoya pearl comes from the Pinctada Fucata Martensii species of oyster shell of Japanese origin. The Akoya pearl is white, ivory or cream naturally with overtones of rose, silver and green overtones. Akoya pearls are more lustrous, smoother and rounder than freshwater pearls. Their sizes range from 2.0 mm to 10 mm diameter, making them the perfect classic pearl for even the littlest of girls.
